Budapest, Margaret Island bus noise was measured

2011.10.03.

As in recent weeks the transport planning or procurement was not launched, so we decided to measure the pass-by noise of BKV's electric-buses(SOR EBN) on the Margit-sziget as a little relaxation job. The measurement is of course only indicative in nature. The intermittent measurement of noise from other vehicles passing there also were recorded. In conclusion cars, light trucks (child carrying small buses), and a Public Transport flight, appearing 5 different buses and articulated buses pass-by noise events and additional information (pass course, noise levels, pass times, average speeds) were recorded. The results on the spatial position and the pass rate by carrying out corrections related 25/2004 Ministry of Environment regulations calculated basic pass-by noise values comparable data was obtained. A further independent assessment of all we do by summarize the results in a table:

In our own assessment of three interesting results call attention to:

1st The noise of electrical buses are comparable to passing cars!
2nd The articulated buses are not noisier than the two axles!
3rd The two axle (IK-marked [Ikarus]) buses are noisier than what would be expected.
